Third Party Inspection
Using our Quality and Engineering expertise, Garrity Tool Company provides “Third Party Inspection” services. These inspection services are performed by trained and experienced technicians who are fluent and well versed in GD&T. Our technicians are all active in the American Society for Quality local chapter and are all active in the education provided by the ASQ. The inspection services that we provide include the following:
• Full Layout / Partial Layout First Article Dimensional Inspection
GTC will provide you with a copy of your part print with all characteristics serialized. Each serial number on the print will correspond with the matching serial number on the First Article Inspection Report. On this report, you will have detailed out each measurement result and the corresponding measuring instrument used to inspect each characteristic. This provides traceability back to NIST.
• Statistical Analysis of Capability
GTC can measure your parts and, using MiniTab, can provide you with a detailed Capability Study using SPC. Included in this Capability Study is a X-Bar Chart, a R Chart, a Histogram, as well as the Standard Deviation, CP, CPK, PP, and PPK.
• CMM Programming
Using either Zeiss Calypso software or Mitutoyo GeoMeasure software, GTC can create a custom CMM program to fulfill your inspection needs. 3-D solid models can be imported into the Zeiss Calypso software and a program can be created using the model. This gives GTC the ability for faster programming times and the ability in many cases to provide 24 hour turnaround times on third party inspections.
• 3-D Full Contact Scanning
Using our Zeiss Contura CMM with VAST Scanning Head, GTC has the capability to provide detailed graphics of form, roundness, flatness, composite true position, cylindricity, angularity, and concentricity. With the ability to take an almost unlimited number of points during a “Full Contact Scan”, the graphics provided are an incredible tool for troubleshooting a manufacturing setup, tooling, mold defects, or fixturing issue.
